Prestige

Holiday greetings to our friends and family. This edition of Travels with Tom & Jan was one we had to work for…

It was a tough slog from Hawaii to Pacific City and through the Fall. We had a new roof put on, got the house painted, got our booster shots, flu shots, even shingles shots. Ouch! But, it all came together and we can now return to our plan for world domination.

As a reward, we booked another Costco Travel package, this time to Las Vegas, staying at the Venetian with their “prestige package.” Aren’t we fabulous? Air travel these days can be strenuous, but we made it.

MaCarran was a relief after changing planes at LAX

Prestige was waiting at the Venetian

Extraordinary photo of our suite (stole it off their site, shh)

We were happy to get together with Jan’s brother and our nieces and also did some tourist-type things around the town.

Rode the Las Vegas Tram down to MGM and New York. New York

Largest chocolate Statue of Liberty in the free world at New York, New York!

Frozen cookie dough.  Not on our diet.

The prestige package included a very nice continental breakfast, with coffee. No coffee in the room, by the way. Ahem. And even better, there was a happy hour buffet and bar – serving rather stiff drinks.

Enjoying cocktails in the prestigious Prestige Lounge

Here's Looking at YOU Kid

A couple of must-see stops for us:  the new location of the Pinball Hall of Fame ( fun, fun, fun) and Eataly (yum, yum, yum).

Used to be hidden in an out of the way warehouse....

...not so much any more.

...a wonderful homage to my misspent youth

At the MGM Park.  Not as extensive as the one we visited in Chicago, buy still very interesting.

What is Vegas without a big show to go to, so we did. "This is Christmas" featured some lovely people, high kicking dances and lots of music. Love the costumes.

Are you listening?

Who would have thought; snow in Las Vegas (no, not that kind).

There was a mix of folks in town, of course. Most wore masks, the others did not. We felt the urge to test on the night we got back home, so we did. Thank you Sarah for supplying a test kit. Happy to report we tested negative and are positive that we can again travel safely. So, a couple of trips are now in the works.

Peace and love to all. T&J

Thank you Pfizer and Fauci for keeping us safe.
