May was quite rainy in the metro area as we were heading to
Pacific City. A lovely hotel stay was a Christmas gift from the Bagley family
and we had a wonderful room – with a view. They even arranged for fantastic
weather for our anniversary trip.

The Oregon Coast is beautiful to behold and we love being
there. We stayed a few nights and days then went north to Astoria. Ahh, life is
good here and has been for over fifty-two years .

Back home, we were hit with a number of things: the
refrigerator died (maybe 4-5 months wait for delivery on a new one), a small home improvement
project was ordered (maybe 3-4 months wait for parts), and we ordered a piece of furniture for our media room (4-9 months out). Then sadly, we lost a cousin and a
long-time family friend. So, that was
June!
But then, we went south…

The
Ashland Hills Hotel is a wonderful place to stay. We set
up camp there for three days. Five stars.
We had purchased tickets from Oregon Shakespeare Festival to see a play in the Elizabethan
theater two years ago, but forest fires cancelled everything outdoors in 2020
and everything was on hold in 2021. OSF was
very good to us and arranged for us to use those tickets for The Tempest this year.

The theater and the production were amazing. We were so glad
that we had read the modern version of the dialog and went to a preview
presentation. Absolutely no photography during the performance. Fortunately, OSF provides us bloggers with excellent shots on their website.

Next day, it was off to explore the Southern Oregon countryside.

We hope to go back next year for another play, more Harry
& David’s, more Jacksonville and much more of Lithia Park.
