If Music be the Food of Love, Play On.....

We wanted one more quick get-away before winter sets in, and we wanted to see a play. So Ashland was calling to us...

We were lucky to check in early at Ashland Hills Hotel, then headed to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival for a one-thirty performance of "Twelfth Night." This edition was set in 1930's Hollywood - we enjoyed the themes, the music, and the characters of course.

Sarah had recommended the Standing Stone Brewery and we checked it out for some wood fired treats.

It was back to the hotel (after a short detour to Hilt), then relaxing in the spa. Aaahhh. An action-packed day.

Next day we took our time heading north to check out some Southern Oregon history. We turned East for a bit to Lost Creek covered bridge.

Then west to Jacksonville. A cute, well preserved community of cute, well preserved shops.

A quick stop in Medford at Harry and David's - can you say "Moose Munch?"

Another covered bridge still stands at Graves Creek in Sunny Valley.  We say "thank you" to the pioneers that came and built them, and the groups that maintain these places so we can still get those good feelings of history in Oregon.  We had hoped to visit the Applegate Trail Museum, but it was closed.

A nice lunch at Tolley's in Oakland, then it was back on good old I-5 for the last leg heading home.
