The Lady Washington

Yes! Tom and Jan headed north again, this time to visit with our good friends, Boyd and Mojgan.

Areas near Puget Sound are so beautiful – traffic, not so much. 

We took a break from the drive to stop in to the Nisqually Wildlife Refuge.

The boardwalk over the land gave us wonderful views and places to get photos and enjoy the peace.

A coyote showed up but was wily enough to retreat into the tall grass.

Boyd and Mo are terrific hosts! It was a beautiful evening on their deck, around a fire. We haven’t stayed up so late since forever.

Next day, we all headed north to Port Ludlow and the Lady Washington.

A bit low cut for our first First Lady

It is a replica of the first ship to visit the Northwest Coast in 1788. Tom and Boyd sailed out into the sound for a two hour experience. The ship provides educational trips for schools and paid tours include firing the cannon.  Calm winds and smooth seas…

Meanwhile, Jan and Mo went to Port Townsend for a walk around town and a little bit of shopping. A number of old buildings have been restored there and it was a perfect day to explore.

End of the day brought us to a delightful setting on Dash Point for dinner on the shore.
