Astoria weekend

Our favorite Italian restaurant is Fulio's in Astoria. We look for any way we can to get there at least once a year. Usually around our anniversary.



This year - number 46 - we combined that with a great visit with friends Boyd & Mojgan. Oh, and the Astoria Seafood & Wine Festival.




The weather was wonderful on our first day there. We did some exploring at Ft. Stevens State Park & enjoyed the sun overlooking the wreck of the Peter Iredale.



Next morning we visited with the sea lions on the docks and checked out the gift shop at the Columbia River Maritime Museum. Although it wasn't open for business, we highly recommend Bowpicker Fish n' Chips, directly across the highway from the museum.

Boyd and Mo arrived in time for a light lunch and a beer at Buoy Brewery Company, right on the river. Hmm, a theme of food & drink is developing here.

Afterwards, it was up to the Astor Column. It was the perfect day for viewing. We are so fortunate to live in this part of the country.

Out at the festival, there were many booths set up for wine tasting and taste we did! Also, the hot crab sandwiches were fantastic. Hey, at $5.00 a piece, why not have two?

Hot crab anyone?

Oregon weather was slowly creeping in as we headed for home.One last stop at Bell Buoy Seafood in Seaside to bring home fresh crab for some special crab lovers (Sarah and Elizabeth, you know who you are) in the family. Always good to get home.
