A driving day, with fantastic scenery and stops. First up was the
Mammoth Site, an active archaeological dig in the town of Hot Springs, South Dakota. The bones of poor young
male mammoths who slid into the sinkhole are entombed here.

As we drove on towards the Crazy Horse Memorial we cruised past buffalo, just minding their own business and looking majestic.

Crazy Horse Memorial was much more extensive than expected and we learned a lot. It will be amazing when completed. It could be a while. They have been at it since 1941.

Then back to
Mt. Rushmore. A much more meaningful (and drier) experience today. Then a great lunch a short way down the hill in Keystone. Now it's that relaxed and groovy time of day. See you tomorrow.
