Today, driving through Iowa, weather was good (thunder & lightning during the night before), roads were good, and man oh man the rest stops. This one was dedicated to writers from Iowa.

Then it was out on Highway 61, and on to Chicago.

We were able to check in early so we hit the street. Walked over the river to the main attraction for today - Willis Tower, formerly known as the Sears Tower. 103 floors up to view the city.

Heading back to the hotel we stopped for Chicago style pizza at the restaurant where it was invented in 1943. Just fantastic.

Across the street was "Eataly," a showcase for all things to do with Italian food and eating it. Going back tomorrow.

We are sitting in the lobby of our hotel while we write this, since it is the only spot with wireless access. As soon as we're done, we hit the streets again.
